For founders without an ops function

Nothing important
slips.

Legate is an AI operations team for small companies. You pick the one workflow you currently hold together in your head. We run it, and each week you get a short brief: what we checked, what is stuck, and what needs your decision — evidence attached.

Needs a decision

The £18k proposal is waiting on a reply promised last Thursday.

Evidence: sales call · follow-up email · pipeline

Put plainly

Legate is a service, not another system to run.

  1. 01

    You pick one workflow

The recurring work where a dropped handoff costs real money. Enquiry to deposit. Proposal to signature. Delivery to invoice.

  2. 02

We learn how it should run

A guided session turns the rules already in your head into an operating model: what good looks like, who owns what, what needs your approval.

  3. 03

We run it and brief you weekly

Legate compares what actually happened with what should have happened, then sends you the short list that needs a human decision.

The problem is rarely effort

It is the gap between what your business knows and what you can see.

  1. 01

A commitment made in a meeting never gets chased.

  2. 02

The right data sits in five tools, with no owner looking across them.

  3. 03

You learn what slipped only after it becomes expensive.

What actually lands

Your Monday brief.

Not a status report or a dashboard you have to interrogate. This is the part of the operating meeting that normally depends on you noticing what everyone else missed.

Coverage 143 enquiries checked across 2 sources · 11 could not be matched, and are reported below rather than dropped

  1. Needs a decision1 of 3

A confirmed £3,200 payment has no owner.

Paid on 5 June. The opportunity is still marked closed in the CRM and no next action exists.

    Decision: Assign this today.

Evidence: Payment record · CRM opportunity · delivery thread

  2. Going cold2 of 3

Two high-intent enquiries are quietly dying.

Both got an initial reply, then sat untouched for six and nine days.

Decision: Recover them, or close them deliberately.

Evidence: Inbox thread · enquiry form · CRM activity

  3. Do not trust this number3 of 3

Your conversion rate is less reliable than it looks.

Eleven enquiries cannot be matched between the inbox and the CRM.

Decision: Fix the handoff before trusting this week’s forecast.

Evidence: Source reconciliation · 30-day window

Every item links back to the evidence. You can see why it is there, who owns the next move, and what changes if you act.

How it works

Four weeks, start to decision.

We start with the workflow where a dropped handoff, a stale record, or a delayed decision has real consequences. Then we run it.

  1. Week 0

    Guided discovery

A working session to choose the workflow and map how it should run. You describe the business in plain English; we turn it into the operating model. No source is opened yet.

  2. Week 0

    Reliability preflight

We reconcile your sources and agree what counts as a real exception. If the evidence cannot support the promise, we narrow the engagement or decline — and you keep the baseline brief either way.

  3. Weeks 1–4

    The operated loop

One founder-ready brief each week, measured against success criteria agreed before we start: one business metric, one workflow metric, one safety guardrail.

  4. Week 4

    Your decision

You decide whether Legate has earned a place in how you run the business. No assumed renewal, no notice period.

To be exact about it

You do not configure it. You do not maintain it.

  • An operated service, run for you

    Software you have to run

  • One brief you can act on in ten minutes

    A dashboard, a feed, or a chatbot

  • Configured for your business, by us

    A template you configure yourself

  • Evidence attached to every claim

A confident summary you have to trust

  • Four weeks, then you decide

    An annual contract

Without a named approver, Legate will never:

  • Send a message to anyone
  • Change a record in your systems
  • Spend your money
  • Publish anything
  • Make a decision about a person

It gathers, reconciles, checks, and recommends. Acting is still yours. And it is pointed at a workflow, never at your people — no individual scoring, no staff monitoring.

Is this you?

The founding cohort is small and deliberately specific.

If four or five of these are true, you are exactly who we built this for. If none are, we will tell you honestly rather than take the deposit.

Before you ask

Is this software I have to install?

No. There is nothing to install, no seats to manage, and no admin panel. You give read access to the few sources we agree in discovery, and we run everything else.

Is it AI, or is it a person?

Both, and they check each other. Whatever drafts a claim is never what verifies it against the linked evidence, and a person reviews the brief before it reaches you.

What data do you need?

Only what the one agreed workflow requires. Before anything is connected you approve a scope map naming the sources, the exclusions, and how long raw material is kept. Your records stay isolated to your company and remain yours to export.

Will my team feel watched?

No. Legate is pointed at a workflow, not at people. It does not score individual performance or monitor staff, and that is a hard boundary rather than a setting you have to find.

What if my data is too messy?

Then we say so during the preflight, before the operated loop starts. A stale, incomplete, or contradictory source is reported to you as a finding. It is never quietly skipped to keep the brief looking tidy.

How much of my time does this take?

A working session up front, then a short intended-outcomes form and one email to read each week. You are not asked to build or maintain anything.

The founding cohort

Help shape the operator layer your business has been missing.

We are inviting a small number of UK founders to work with us from the beginning. You get the service, direct access to its operator, and a hand in defining what it becomes.

£750
Guided discovery and the reliability preflight. Non-refundable — and if we conclude your evidence cannot support the loop, you keep the baseline brief and a straight recommendation anyway.
£750
The four-week operated loop, with one founder briefing each week.
£0
Licences, seats, rollout, and any contract beyond the four weeks.

For comparison, a part-time operations manager in the UK costs £2,000 to £4,000 a month. This is not a licence you have to justify. It is the job you keep deferring.
